Biography
My focus is on helping high school student-athletes and their parents to understand and navigate the college recruiting and admissions process. I will help clients do the following:
- Understand the NCAA requirements for student-athletes who would like to play in college.
- Clearly identify their academic and athletic priorities for college.
- Identify the types of schools and particular schools that could be a great fit with their priorities, and strategize accordingly.
- Understand the appopriate steps to connect and communicate with 'target' coaches and colleges.
- Understand how to create their strongest application and resume for college.
As a senior executive Jeff has been responsible for strategic planning, marketing, sales, business development, licensing, technology, and M&A. He has substantial experience deploying subscription marketing strategies in the eLearning and knowledge management market. Recently, Jeff was Executive Vice President of Sales and Chief Marketing Officer for a major provider of scoreboard, software, LED lighting, and video display solutions to the high school and college sports market, as well as several commercial industry sectors. Previously, he was President and COO of a mobile technology security application company.
As a former college athlete and the father of a professional athlete, Jeff has direct experience understanding the challenges of coaches and parents and through Student-Athlete Advisory Services has consulted to high school student-athletes and their parents, helping them more effectively manage the college recruitment, application & selection process. Jeff has an extensive background in sports and education as a consultant, as the Chief Executive Officer of a sports and entertainment marketing company, and as Executive Vice President of an eLearning company. Jeff has been the Athletic Director at a summer camp, coaching and mentoring young students of all backgrounds, and Co-founder of not-for-profit, Hoop Street Gang, helping young student-athletes participate in competitive basketball leagues & tournaments in the northeast.
Jeff has a BA in Psychology from Yale University and an MBA in Management from New York University. For more than 20 years, he interviewed high school student candidates for admission to Yale University.
